About Us

Our Story Is About God’s Faithfulness

We exist to love people toward Jesus and to practice what the Bible says—together, every day.

Who We Are

Lake LA Baptist Church is a family of imperfect people following a perfect Savior. We gather to worship, open the Bible, pray, and serve our neighbors— not to build a name for ourselves, but to make much of Jesus. Our desire is simple: to hear God’s Word and do it, as a way of life.

Christ-Centered

Everything we are flows from who Jesus is and what He has done.

Bible-Practicing

We don’t just say we believe the Bible—we aim to practice it consistently.

People-Loving

We welcome, disciple, and send people to love others as Christ has loved us.

Our History

Open Bible and worship

By God’s grace, Lake LA Baptist Church began as a small gathering of believers who simply wanted to worship, pray, and share the gospel in Lake Los Angeles. Through ordinary seasons of faithfulness—meeting in homes, opening the Scriptures, serving neighbors—the Lord has led us step by step. Our story is not about a brand or a method; it is the testimony of God forming a people by His Word, for His glory, and for the good of our community.

We continue to trust Jesus to build His church as we follow Him with humility, hold fast to Scripture, and love those He places in our path.

Our Beliefs

We confess that the Bible is our final authority—not as a slogan, but as a practice. We strive to order our lives, our church, and our decisions by the plain teaching of Scripture. For that reason, our condensed doctrinal statement is composed of Bible verses, and our unabridged doctrinal statement is the entire Bible.

How we live this out:

  • Read and teach Scripture in context
  • Conform ministry methods to the Word, not the other way around
  • Let clear passages interpret unclear ones
  • Submit our preferences to God’s revealed will

Word Over Tradition

We embrace biblical teaching even when it requires leaving man-made preferences.

Presence Over Performance

We value prayerful dependence on God more than polished appearances.

People Over Programs

Ministry is personal—discipleship happens life-on-life in community.
